IOLMaster — Axial Length Measurement
Ideal Display, Clear Media.

Ideal Axial Length Display

In measuring the axial length of an eye with clear ocular media, the IOL Master axial length display will typically show the above characteristics.

Remember to use the Best Measurement Technique and sample several areas around the center of the measurement reticule until the best display is obtained. The important components of accuracy with the IOL Master are: correct alignment with the fixation light, measurement consistency, and a correct display pattern.

Pseudophakic Eyes with acrylic and PMMA intraocular lenses can sometimes show a falsely short axial length due to a reflected image. Taking several reading around the center of the measurement reticule will avoid this problem.
